I don't ever really like doing these things... but I started doing it and really enjoyed it. I posted this on facebook but decided to copy it onto here as well.
Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 25 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 25 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.
1. I feel awkward writing 25 things about myself, but you know I think I am going to do it anyway.
2. I am the youngest of 4 girls... which is a blessing but creates some interesting dynamics.
3. My sister Sarah and I were really close growing up because we were near in age. She was 2 years older than me, but I was always a little bit taller than her even when we were young so people always thought I was older. They still do.
4. My best friend growing up was a boy named Phillip. He lived next door and we tended to play boy things... like dinosaurs, "camping", and Power Rangers.
5. I was always the yellow Power Ranger. There were only 2 girls, the yellow and the pink. Almost every girl wanted to be the pink Power Ranger... well, I did not want to be like every other girl. This will be a common occurance throughout the rest of my life.
6. Sarah (my sister) was best friends with Phillip's older sister. We all made something called witch's stew. Basically there was a stump in the backyard that we put all kinds of things from the yeard in... like mud, leaves, berries, etc.
7. I loved summer. My sisters and I would frequently go swimming at a public pool. My mom would pack us lunches in a cooler and we would stay all day. I loved it! Now the thought of a public pool packed with kids really grosses me out.
8. The pool was at a place called Goosepond. I ran cross-country in jr. high and had many practices and meets out at Goosepond. There are many trails and woods around.
9. I played golf in high school. The golf course we had practice at was at Goosepeond. So, Goosepond's a pretty significant place.
10. I loved Christmas, too... but what child does not. I remember always being unsure about
Santa. I was never certain he existed but never certain He didn't. One Christmas, I remember being convinced he was real. I had spotted a porcelain doll at a local shop about a month or so before Christmas. I fell in love with the doll. It was an Indian doll with long dark hair with a red and cream and brown dress. I forgot all about the doll, so Christmas morning I was so surprised to see the doll! For some reason, it convinced me that Santa existed even though my mom had been at the shop with me.
11. A couple of Christmases later I finally decided Santa was not real. I opened another doll but this time she had a price tag hanging on her arm. I was a little dissappointed.
12. I was a scared child... I was terrified of trains, fireworks, thunderstorms, doctors.
13. When I was 5 I had to get shots... I don't really remember which ones you get at that age. My mom and the doctor had to chase me around the room and pen me to the table to give me the shots. I was so scared.
14. I played clarinet for 1 year when I was in 6th grade. I played piano for about 3. I rarely stuck to any hobby or talent.
15. I always loved Mary Kate and Ashley... from the time I was about 5 untill my senior year of high school. I got to "meet" them in Huntsville, AL at the space and rocket center when I was 8. I was very dissappointed because all they did was say hey and hand me a brochure. I thought I would get a long time to actually talk to them and take pictures.
16. My birthday is February 15th, so I always wanted to have heart parties... hence Valentine's Days. I loved birthday parties and coming up with themes for them. Hence, my focus at Auburn is event planning.
17. I loved art growing up and still do. I took some form of art every year until I came to Auburn. This semester I am taking Basic Drawing and I am so excited. They did not offer the class the first year I came to Auburn.
18. My art won a few awards in high school and one piece was hung in the State Capitol.
19. I never went to camp growing up, though I always wanted to thanks to the Parent Trap and Bug Juice. I made up for it the last two summers. I worked at Camp Marannook for the summers of 2007 and 2008. It pretty much changed my life.
20. I was always obsessed with New York City even before I got a chance to go. I was able to go
for the first time when I was sophomore in high school will a journalism team. I wasn't even in journalism, but they let me go. When we first drove into the city, we drove through Harlem. I was taken aback and very shocked at what New York was. I was expecting "You've Got Mail." Withing a couple of days though, I was in love!!
21. I got to return to New York at the end of my junior year. I went on a school trip through Boston, Philadelphia, New York, DC, Salem, a beautiful Massachusetts town called Marblehead and Monticello. It was all wonderful. I have not been back to New York but I certainly plan on returning at some point in the future.
22. I was voted Most Polite in high school. So was my sister, Sarah. My sister Laura Beth was most dependable. I guess you could say we were always known as the "nice" girls.
23. I worked at a cafe and catering company in high school, called the Veranda. I loved catering!! I liked working more than going to school.
24. My favorite blog/website is http://stylempretty.com It's a wedding blog and I'm kind of obsessed. I check it several times a day for updates.
25. I really, really like coffee shops. I don't know what I would do without my journal or vanilla chai.
Well, that was kind of fun. I would really like to hear your 25 things, too!
Seeing the fruit flourish.
