my favorite things - romantic comedies.

i just saw a movie trailer for the proposal, and it reminded me that i really wanted to post that this movie is so good, so funny! i think everyone should see it. then, that made me want to make a list of my favorite romanitc comedies... as cliche as they may be.

  • bridget jones: the edge of reason - renee zellweger and colin firth; this movie makes me so happy. it's that movie that i think i could watch almost every day. bridget jones is so real and funny and mark darcy is wonderful.

  • you've got mail - meg ryan and tom hanks; i am sure this is one of every girl in america's favorite movies. i don't even know if its the movie that i love so much, or new york city. i just love the bookstore and the coffee shops and parks in nyc... and meg ryan's adorable style.

  • love actually - too many to name, but my favorite is hugh grant (in this movie); so many sweet stories and wonderful british accents and scenery, beautiful people and good music... aside from one very vulgar story in the movie, i love it!

  • last chance harvey - emma thompson and dustin hoffman; this is a fairly new movie. i like it so much because it's a real story but has a happy ending. most movies are one extreme or the other... completely unpredictable amazingness or complete hopelessness. this movie is somewhere in the middle and i love it. emma thompson is becoming one of my favorite actresses. plus, london is a wonderful backdrop.

  • father of the bride - you've got to know i love this movie. such a happy movie... and yet the wedding is absolutely horrible. sorry. but it reminds me of when i was younger and that makes me very happy. plus steve martin is so funny and kimberly williams-paisley is adorable but my favorite character is frank! i love him.

Kate, i'm sorely outnumbered now..wanna come up and us watch these great chick flicks together sometime? Ben, Brenann and Benjamin can go somewhere for an hour or two...and i can re-live the pre-baby, college days of yore..hahah
