two small pleasures that make me exceedingly happy in life are beautiful calligraphy, especially when it is scribbled by Betsy Dunlap... she is a genius. the second is american idol. i'll get to that later.

but, i can guarantee you i will not. a little fear of needles stands in the way of that. but, is that not awesome? betsy dunlap scrawled out this man's daughter's name for a tattoo. good choice.
i have been a fan of American Idol from day one. i've cheered on the majority of the winners, including kelly clarkson. there are few things media wise that i am faithful to, but AI is one of them. so, season 9 has begun and it didn't take long for me to identify my favorite... rough around the edges, country singer, casey james with beautiful golden locks. i just like saying his name. how lucky is he? casey james. you will be our next american idol. ok, ok... it's a little too soon to tell... but its not just his looks. dang it his voice is fabulous. it was his first performance, and i already bought the song on itunes. i can't wait to watch you this season, boy.
ok, ok. i do have a girl favorite too... lilly scott is her name. she has a regina spektor/adele vibe to her, which AI hasn't seen a lot of. however, some reason her pictures were not as easy to find. hmm... wonder why.

I'm determined to watch it this year, first time since high school. I missed most of the girls, but Casey James did have a wonderful voice. I was sad about the guys who left, I thought they both had good voices.
