pi chi love.

I have now begun my junior year at Auburn University. For the first time in my life I feel old. Though, I know that I am not. I have reached that turning point where you start to feel as if time is running out a bit. God has brought me to a point though where I realize that today is what I am to focus on and He will take care of the future. George MacDonald said, "The best preparation for the future is the present well seen to and the last duty done." Matthew 6:34 says, "Do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will care for itself." I must confess though that I definitely do not always live by this truth.

Well, God blessed me with a wonderful oppurtunity to begin my first week as a Junior. Instead of jumping up and down, singing catchy ADPi songs, and asking, "What's your major and which dorm do you live in?" a million times, I got to stand on the sidelines and coach 15 girls through the process of sorority recruitment. I loved working with those sweet girls and seeing their various perspectives on the week. I loved hearing where they came from and what they were looking for here at Auburn. God truly has different paths for different people, and none is superior to the other. My prayer is that I will continue to get to know each of those girls and see how their plans unfold throughout their years at Auburn. Watching this process and being a member of it as well, I tend to question whether or not this routine of matching girls to sororities is even honoring to God at all. I know though that He is a sovereign God and I want to continue to be a member of this sorority and pray that in some way whether it be so small and seem so insignificant, that I may be a light to other girls. This is my prayer.

And it has been such a blessing to move into my HOUSE. Yes, I live in a house, not a dorm. The dorm was not my favorite situation. I never felt like I had a home to be in and I think I needed to do a lot of growing. But, I am so thankful to have my space, my nest, and the opportunity to cook and decorate. It is such a relief to be here! We still have much more work to do, but, I am looking forward to seeing the completed project.
